My name is Kamille.

Consider my work the intersection of design, community building, dreaming, healing, and educating.

I’m an award-winning designer of commercial interiors, brands, products, and experiences. I’m also the founder of the dsgnrs collective! I have a very curious approach to what storytelling of the built environment can look like from the Black gaze, as well as, the future of design when radical thinking and connection becomes priority.

This is my value system

I think design is cool, but I’ve got questions:

  • Who’s centered and how can we use design as a tool for creative expression that tells an untold point of view?

  • Who’s included and how can we be more intentional about uplifting bespoke designers, artisans, craftspeople, and organizations for our big ideas?

  • How accessible is it and how can we use our practice to not only light the path but nurture the journeys of upcoming creatives?

  • What does future forward practice look like and what do we need to experiment within our connections to ensure more sustainable experiences for all?

  • Who is seen? How can space be made for those that aren’t?

I’m taking action with

“The most glamourous thing to me about design is not the finished product, it’s the process, the mess, the trial and error, and everything that falls in between…I want to celebrate that.”

By organization.

Curating programs that educate and challenge design ideologies while fostering cross discipline connection.

By design.

A creative think tank amplifying overlooked stories in an unconventional way.

Parable of the Sower

Octavia E. Butler, 1993

When global climate change and economic crises lead to social chaos in the early 2020s, California becomes full of dangers, from pervasive water shortage to masses of vagabonds who will do anything to live to see another day. Fifteen-year-old Lauren Olamina lives inside a gated community with her preacher father, family, and neighbors, sheltered from the surrounding anarchy. In a society where any vulnerability is a risk, she suffers from hyperempathy, a debilitating sensitivity to others’ emotions.

Precocious and clear-eyed, Lauren must make her voice heard in order to protect her loved ones from the imminent disasters her small community stubbornly ignores. But what begins as a fight for survival soon leads to something much more: the birth of a new faith…and a startling vision of human destiny.
